Todd Allen

Senior CAD REVIT Designer

Todd joined the CBI team in the spring of 2004. Todd has over 30 years of experience in the building and design trade. He has drafted and designed and built many homes throughout New England. With his creativity, experience, and skills, he is able to layout and design a project with confidence that his interpretation will create the best results for clients. Todd earned his certificate for Computer Aided Design in 2002 at the University of New Hampshire. He smoothly and successfully transitioned his career from builder to designer.

Matt Assia

Matt Assia

Director of Asset Management

Matt joined Chinburg Properties in 2013. Matt’s responsibilities include overseeing the financial performance of the firm’s commercial real estate portfolio and the sourcing, analysis, and financing of new investment and development opportunities. Prior to joining Chinburg, Matt held a number of positions over 17 years in real estate development and construction management. His experience spans the development cycle from acquisition through permitting, construction, stabilization, and disposition. Matt has worked on a wide range of asset types including medical office, office, multi-family housing, municipal, and science-driven research facilities. Matt holds a BS in Civil Engineering and an MBA, both from the University of Maryland, and he is a licensed broker in MA as well as a LEED Green Associate.

Jenn joined the Chinburg Builders team in August 2015 after moving to the Seacoast from North Conway NH. She will be applying her experience in real estate development, property management and customer service to our Vaughan Street project. She is also a licensed Real Estate agent.

In 2007, Lori Bachand joined the Chinburg team as the Customer Service Manager. Lori has over 20 years experience in the real estate and home building industry and is committed to making your home buying experience an enjoyable one. Lori works closely with our design team and selections coordinator to research new products and offer our customers the best possible options available. As each home nears completion, Lori works with the project managers to make certain the Chinburg quality standards are met. When a buyer moves into their new home, Lori is there to make certain it performs as it should.

Susan Bellis

Construction Purchasing Coordinator, Commercial Construction

Susan joined the Chinburg team in 2016 bringing her over 20 years of Construction Industry experience. She has worked in many different fields and trades of construction from a multi-disciplinary Design firm where she became a Certified CDT (Construction Document Technologist) to site construction, with her most recent 10 year employment in Industrial construction. Susan was excited to come back to the Commercial/Residential side of construction as Purchaser for our MillCom division. Her position with Chinburg allows her to use her construction experience, organization skills, with her love to get a bargain! In her free time she is a volunteer for the Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue and loves riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Peter Berube

Maintenance Technician

Pete joined the team in 2012 when Chinburg Properties purchased the Cocheco Mills in Dover. Pete is a key contributor to the upkeep of the Cocheco Mills property and helps to make sure all residential and commercial tenant maintenance issues are resolved. In his free time, he enjoys riding one of his many motorcycles and spending time outdoors with his dog Tuukka.

Meghan joined the Chinburg team in February of 2020. Her key responsibilities include assisting with the day to day management of commercial and mill construction projects, preparation and management of subcontracts, assisting in the preparation of estimates and budgets, and providing support to Project Managers and Site Supervisors in the field. Meghan is a UNH graduate, and holds her LEED, GA accreditation through the U.S. Green Building Council.

Caylyn joined the Chinburg team in January 2020. Her key responsibilities include overseeing Chinburg Builders safety program for the Single Family Homes, Mill Comm and Commercial Construction divisions, as well as providing assistance to the Senior Project Managers. Caylyn grew up on the seacoast in Newington, NH and graduated from Keene State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and her puppy, Millie.

Sales Manager

Karen joined the team in 2013 bringing 10 years of real estate experience. A licensed real estate salesperson, Karen specialized in new construction home sales and purchased her own home from Chinburg Properties in 2006. Karen now assists the COO in the daily management of on-going new residential projects and renovations focusing on the quality and efficiency that defines Chinburg Properties. Originally from Ireland, Karen now resides in Exeter NH.

John Brighton

Project Representative

After more than two-decades as majority owner of a design-build fire protection firm, John joined the Chinburg Management team in September 2020. As Project Representative, John works as a liaison between Chinburg Properties and the municipalities and projects in which the company has invested with the goal of achieving positive global outcomes. He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, and in his spare time can be found building stonewalls or working in the woods. In 2019 he published the book The Forgotten County, a Story of Community, Family and Friendship. John and his wife, Susan, reside in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Katelyn joined the Chinburg Management Team in October 2020. Her key responsibilities include managing residential properties, Newmarket Mills and Perley Canal Mill in Laconia, NH. Katelyn grew up in Bedford, NH and graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2017. In her free time she enjoys walking her labradoodle, Levi, horseback riding and exploring the beautiful granite state with her friends and family.

Shaun joined the Chinburg team in October of 2019. His key responsibilities include ensuring daily tasks are completed timely, efficiently, and to company standard, demolition of buildings and clean up to prep sites for remodeling, keeping homes and the surrounding areas clean and organized to ensure workers have clean environments to work diligently, and assisting tradesmen in their duties as needed.

Shaun grew up in Amesbury, Massachusetts and joined the United States Army in February of 2003. In 2004 and 2010 he was deployed to Iraq and was medically discharged from service in 2015. Shaun recently graduated from UMass Lowell with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. In his free time, Shaun enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, watching and listening to comedians and enjoying a good thriller/horror movie.

Jake joined the Chinburg team in February 2020 as part of the mill maintenance crew. His responsibilities include the maintenance and upkeep of the Portsmouth residential and commercial properties, including the Frank Jones Brew Yard, 125 & 155 Brewery Lane, Millport and Brewery 145. Jake grew up in Londonderry, NH and is a proud Americorps alumni. In his free time, Jake enjoys hiking, skiing, motorcycles and playing music.

Eric Chinburg founded Chinburg Properties in 1987. With over 30 years of experience, Eric has built hundreds of homes in New Hampshire and Maine. With a strong foundation in single family custom homebuilding, Eric has expanded the company to include; multi-unit communities and adaptive re-use of abandoned mill properties. Eric has been recognized as a leader in open space and conservation development. Eric is a Durham, NH native and graduated from UNH with a degree in civil engineering.

Vice President, Marketing and Strategy

Jen joined the staff in 2003. She is responsible for corporate branding and marketing for the Chinburg sales and the mill commercial and residential rental properties. Jen has 25+ years of experience in marketing, business management, and economic development. Jen graduated from Boston College in 1991 and earned a certificate of special studies in administration and management from Harvard University in 1996.

Vice President of Construction

Jon came to Chinburg Properties after his graduation from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1990. He is an experienced designer and works closely with customers to finalize their floor plans. He is also responsible for the pricing of all single family home building projects, and has the knowledge and experience to guide and advise customers on design direction and associated cost. He is the primary sales contact for Chinburg Properties and attends meetings with potential buyers to assist in the transformation of a buyer's vision to a viable project. Jon has participated in the sales, design, and budgeting of hundreds of homes during his tenure at Chinburg Properties.

Daniel’s work at CBI focuses on preconstruction planning within the Mills & Commercial Construction project portfolio. Prior to joining the team in 2017, Daniel earned a mechanical engineering degree from Northeastern University and a Project Management Professional certification through his experience in Los Angeles’ aerospace and material science industries. Functional fitness, nutrition, horticulture and photography are a few personal interests. Originally from Massachusetts, Daniel currently lives in Newmarket, NH.

Pernell joined Chinburg in September 2020 as part of the Single Family Homes team. Nell is proud to be a second generation builder, beginning his career at the young age of thirteen working alongside his father as an apprentice/helper. Through the years, Nell has worked for lumber companies, landscape companies, as a union carpenter and as the sole proprietor of P.H. Collins Builders, LLC. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor actives, and spending time with family and friends.

Michelle joined Chinburg Properties as a Project Manager in November of 2020. Her key responsibilities are to manage, monitor and facilitate the successful construction of new single family homes. Michelle has 6+ years of experience working on residential and commercial construction projects. She received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and Architecture from Endicott College in 2013 and Masters of Science in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2017. She currently lives in Groveland, MA where she has been restoring her 200+ year old farmhouse. She also enjoys antiquing, refinishing furniture and hiking with her Saint Bernard.

His daily responsibilities include managing and organizing sub contract work, requesting bids for work, maintaining safety on site at all times for both Chinburg employees and sub-contractors, and ensuring the project stays on budget. Edward enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, and all things outdoors. He is also a proud new dad!

As one of the premier landscape architects in the area, Gary is the genius behind the beautiful landscaping that comes with every Chinburg project. In the summer of 2006, Gary was promoted to the director of property maintenance for Chinburg Management.

Brandon joined the Chinburg Properties team in February of 2010. Brandon’s construction background is in commercial wood framing. He attended Plymouth State University were he received a BS in Business Management. Soon after his graduation Brandon started work as an Assistant Project Manager for a company that specialized in large commercial construction projects. Chinburg Properties now utilizes Brandon’s experience in managing government, state, military defense, hospital, and other large commercial projects to further develop Chinburg Builders commercial construction division. Brandon also helps in managing Chinburg Properties safety program to insure that every CBI project is completed under the OSHA standards.

Adam joined the Chinburg commercial construction team in June of 2020 as a Project Manager. Adam brings a wealth of construction experience to the team, having been responsible for projects of all sizes from residential single family homes to ground up commercial projects and tenant fit-outs. His recent work adds extensive expertise in mill work, interior finishes, as well as multi-tenant and mill building restoration/re-use. His client and team focus exemplifies his passion for best-practice, efficient process and accountable project management and execution.

Adam graduated from UNH and also holds a Masters in Education. He is passionate about mentoring and educating young and old about the construction, architecture and engineering industry. Adam is an avid skier, loves cooking and tries to travel wherever and whenever he can with his family.

Michelle joined Chinburg Properties in January 2015. She graduated from Great Bay Community College in 2016 with her Associates in Accounting and Associates in Business Management. She enjoyed working in our Accounting Department for several years but eagerly transitioned to our Human Resources department to focus on benefits, compensation, employee relations, compliance, and payroll. She obtained her SHRM-CP certification in Human Resources in 2020. She enjoys spending time on the lake kayaking, camping, riding her motorcycle, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Financial Consultant

Bob began working for CBI as a consultant in early 2006 and has served in various management capacities ever since. Bob is currently responsible for the preparation of all financial reports and strategic financial planning for Chinburg Properties and its related development entities. He advises the President and management team to maximize overall enterprise financial health and smoothly operating systems. He provides input and direction for the company’s sales and marketing efforts. He brings over 25 years of business leadership experience to the company. Bob has a BA in Economics from Lafayette College and an MBA from Rutgers University.

Office Manager

Kathy joined CBI in 2004. Kathy manages all lender relationships, including construction loans where she oversees and coordinates all loan draw requests - alleviating our customers of this task - and resolving any issues that might arise. She also works directly with our buyer’s title companies and attorneys ensuring that each closing goes smoothly. Kathy has over 15 years experience in the business accounting and office management fields, with a particular expertise in the creation and implementation of systems to make operations run more efficiently. Kathy makes customer service a priority and is a wonderful information resource for customers, venders and business partners. Kathy holds a B.S. in Business Management and an Associates Degree in Accounting.

Marina is currently working towards her Associates degree in accounting and has been a tremendous asset to the company due to her strong organizational skills, her attention to detail, and her sparkling personality.

Paul enthusiastically manages the construction operations at Chinburg Properties. He started in 1993 as a project coordinator, ‘back in the day.’ Paul oversees all aspects of construction from sales through closings including customer service. He has been instrumental in our safety program and implementing the employee review system. Paul’s main responsibilities have primarily been the residential sector of the company. Cutting edge products, value engineering and focusing on the environment has been the most recent focus. Paul is active in the community and coaches some of the youth programs locally.

Mike joined the Chinburg team back in 2011 as an Assistant Site Supervisor. Now a Site Supervisor, Mike oversees the day to day operations of up to 40 subcontractors at each site he works on. He also manages all scheduling, logistics, and site safety operations. In his free time, you can catch Mike snowboarding during the winter months and surfing, hiking, and camping with his family during the summer months.

Property Lease Bookkeeper & Payables Clerk

Deborah joined the Chinburg Team in April of 2020. As the Property Lease Bookkeeper within the accounting division, she manages the set up for all residential and commercial leases, tenant payments, accounts payable and a variety of problem solving. Deborah brings with her over 20 years of business experience and managed the accounting team for a software company prior to joining Chinburg. She graduated from Southern NH University in 2003 with a B.S. in Business.
In her free time, Deborah enjoys walking, hiking and training with her pup Zulu, as well as spending time with family and friends. She has been a volunteer for the past 18 years for Big Brothers Big Sisters as a BIG and at Pope Memorial - Cocheco Valley Humane Society as a Humane Education Instructor and Trainer.

Katie joined the Chinburg Management team in June of 2017. Her key responsibilities include overseeing the commercial leasing and marketability of both the New Hampshire and Maine portfolios, managing tenant fit ups and facility management. Katie grew up on the seacoast in Hampton, NH and spent a few years exploring and skiing out West in Vail, Colorado after she graduated from the University of Maine in 2012. Jan is the Accounting and Human Resources Manager for Chinburg Properties, various development entities, and the leasing operations. Her responsibilities include general accounting, insurance, taxes, and purchasing for the Project Managers. Prior to joining CBI in 2006, Jan managed accounting departments in a credit union and a resort. She is a life long resident of Kittery and has been a volunteer at the New Hampshire SPCA for over a decade.

Greg joined Chinburg Properties in 2006 assisting with the administrative side of the production department. As a Senior Project Manager, Greg is responsible for managing and helping to coordinate necessary project resources and documentation throughout the project life cycle. This includes the maintenance of budget and schedule, and the management and administration of contractual requirements, agreements with trade partners, purchase orders, meeting minutes and logs, etc. He also helps to manage risk, subcontractors, general work performance and quality, and help measure overall team progress against the project plan through consistent communication and collaboration with the project team members. Greg resides in Barrington, NH with his wife Lyndsay and two kids Lucy and Logan.

Kim joined the Chinburg team in July of 2019 as the Customer Relations and Administrative Assistant at the Saco Mill property in Saco, Maine. Kim is the primary point of contact for all office walk-ins and handles all website and phone call lead referrals. With over 20 years of lighting design, consulting and being a licensed real estate agent, Kim brings lots of experience to the team. She currently lives in Portsmouth, NH with her family and in her free time enjoys playing tennis, skiing at Wildcat or relaxing at Rye Beach.

He has extensive experience in building and leading industry teams for projects ranging from small tenant fit outs to multi-million dollar ground up projects. Rob grew up in Gilford, NH and graduated from Keene State College. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee, coaching soccer and cooking.

Geoff Spitzer

Geoff Spitzer

VP of Commercial Design, Planning & Pre-Construction

Geoff joined Chinburg Properties, Inc (CBI) in 1999 as a Project Manager/Site Supervisor. His first project was the conversion of an abandoned industrial mill building located in downtown Dover, NH into a 27 unit apartment building. Since then as the “Mill Guy” for CBI, Geoff has overseen multiple adaptive re-use of historic mill and school projects as well as a variety of multifamily condominium projects. Geoff is a LEED Accredited Professional. Most recently, Geoff has spearheaded an effort to increase the Chinburg Properties presence as a commercial general contracting company. He advises, guides, and coordinates proposals and pricing for outside development projects. Geoff is helping the company to find a niche as a preferred general contractor and essential partner to developers. Additionally Geoff is on the company’s “Green Team” helping build more energy efficient homes and achieve LEED certified projects. Geoff serves on the Board of Directors for the Seacoast Workforce Housing Coalition. Prior to his career at this company Geoff spent over 13 years in the historic preservation field working throughout New England on historic properties as a carpenter, consultant and contractor.

Roger is extremely experienced and skilled with particular success in meeting budgets, and managing the subcontractors and vendors.
