Islington Street Condo

The Goal

Converting a 2,100 sq. ft. commercial space into a sleek, modern industrial 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo in the heart of downtown Portsmouth. The project features exposed ceilings, polished concrete floors, custom natural wood finishes, gas fireplace, oversized island, and wet bar.

Our Approach

The client envisioned converting a large commercial condo space into a modern and functional luxury 3-bedroom residence. Given the differing code requirements for commercial and residential properties, this project presented unique challenges. The Chinburg Team meticulously addressed these challenges, ensuring the condo met all applicable building codes, including fire safety, egress, and accessibility. Additionally, the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems were upgraded to meet residential standards while maintaining the open-concept flow of the original office space.
